Mindfulness Based Grief Counseling and Coaching for Life After Loss

Grief can change how you experience your body, your thoughts, your relationships, and your sense of time. You may be newly bereaved, living with loss for years, or returning for support as grief shifts and resurfaces.

Some people come here knowing exactly what kind of grief counseling or coaching they want. Others arrive feeling unsure, exhausted, or simply looking for something that feels steady.

This page is here to help you understand the kinds of mindfulness based grief support offered and choose what feels right for you now.

Support that meets you where you are

There is no single way grief unfolds. What supports you at one point in your life may change over time.

You are not expected to have clarity, strength, or a plan. You are welcome whether you know what you need or are still figuring that out.

The grief counseling and coaching offered here is grounded in mindfulness and designed to adapt as your life continues to change.

Mindfulness & Grief Online Coaching Group

Awaken is an online grief support group that combines guided learning with weekly live group support. It includes a self paced mindfulness based grief course and ongoing group grief coaching sessions led by Heather.

This option can be helpful if you want both structure and connection. You learn practical tools for working with grief and have regular opportunities to be supported in real time. You are never required to share more than you want. Many people begin by listening and gradually participate more as they feel ready.

Group grief counseling and coaching may be a good fit if you are looking for guidance, shared understanding, and steady support as you learn to live with loss.

Mindfulness-based Grief Counseling for Individuals

One on one grief counseling and coaching offers a private space to move at your own pace, with care shaped around the details of your life and your loss.

This option can be especially helpful if your grief feels complex, overwhelming, or difficult to share in a group setting. One on one work allows for focused attention and support tailored to your specific circumstances.

Individual grief counseling and coaching may be a good fit if you want private guidance, deeper exploration, or support with specific challenges related to your loss.

Choosing what feels right

You do not need to choose the perfect option. There is no wrong place to begin.

Some people start with group grief support and later move into one on one work. Others begin privately and join a group when they feel ready for connection. Many people move between both over time.

You are allowed to choose what feels most supportive now and adjust as your needs change.

If you would like a gentle way to explore this approach before committing to ongoing support, the free workshop below offers a place to begin.

About Heather

Heather Stang has spent more than two decades supporting people through grief, trauma, and life changing loss. Her work integrates mindfulness, modern grief theory, and lived experience.

Her approach focuses on helping people relate to grief as it shows up in real life, in the body, in relationships, and in daily moments. Rather than offering timelines or formulas, she supports people in building the capacity to live with what has changed while staying connected to what still matters.

Heather offers both individual and group grief counseling and coaching. All of the work here is guided by the same belief. Grief is not something to fix, but something to meet with care, awareness, and respect.
