Grief Counseling and Coaching With Heather Stang
Grief can leave you feeling unsteady, overwhelmed, and unsure how to move forward. You may be carrying intense emotions, unanswered questions, or a sense that your life no longer fits the way it once did.
Grief counseling and coaching offers a private, supportive space to slow down, catch your breath, and work with what loss has brought into your life. You do not need to explain yourself or hold it together here. You are welcome exactly as you are.
Private grief counseling and coaching
One on one grief counseling and coaching provides focused, individualized support shaped around your life, your loss, and what you are navigating right now.
This work can help you:
Explore complex emotions in a safe, confidential space
Adapt to internal and external changes after loss
Rebuild routines and a sense of steadiness
Stay connected to your values as your life continues to change
Sessions are mindfulness-based and paced with care. There is no pressure to move quickly or reach a specific outcome.
A different approach to grief counseling
Grief is not something to get over or fix. It is an experience that touches the body, the nervous system, relationships, and identity.
Heather’s approach to grief counseling and coaching integrates mindfulness, modern grief theory, and compassionate inquiry. Together, you will work with grief as it shows up in your thoughts, emotions, and daily life, while building skills to stay present and grounded through difficult moments.
This work is not about forcing change. It is about creating enough safety and support to meet what is already here.
What one on one grief support can include
Depending on your needs, individual grief counseling and coaching may include:
Mindfulness and nervous system support to reduce overwhelm
Compassion-based practices to soften self-judgment
Space to explore meaning, identity, and values after loss
Support with anniversaries, transitions, and ongoing grief
Sessions are collaborative and responsive. You and Heather work together to shape the support that fits you best.
Is this the right next step for you?
Private grief counseling and coaching can be helpful if you want focused, one on one support and feel ready to work more closely with someone.
If you are not sure you are ready to book a private session, that is completely okay. Many people prefer to begin by experiencing the approach first, without committing to ongoing support.
The free Living With Grief workshop offers a gentle introduction to mindfulness-based grief support. It gives you a chance to learn practical tools, reflect quietly, and notice how this approach feels for you.
If you are interested in ongoing support but prefer community support, the Awaken grief support group offers a combination of guided learning and weekly group support. Some people choose Awaken as a first step, and others join it alongside individual work.
