Heather Stang will host the third Meditation for Grief Online Group,  starting in January. It will meet virtually on Tuesdays, January 9 to February 27, 2018 from 7:00 – 8:00 PM EST.

Tuesday sessions for this 8-week period include a variety of activities aimed to provide support and insight into the physical, emotional, and spiritual experience of grief. The Meditation for Grief Online Group includes 8 grief group meetings via video conference, led by Heather Stang, plus participants will have immediate access to the companion course, Meditation for Grief Course & Community Forum, which can also be purchased as a stand-alone program.

Each week address a particular theme, including “Mindful Awareness: How to Find Refuge in the Present Moment” and “Allowing Transformation: Who Am I Now?” In addition, members of the group will have access to a private Facebook group to interact with their peers and group leader. This private group offers a chance to to create a dialogue in the comments about each lesson.

Participants will have immediate access to all 8 week’s worth of course material upon registration. These materials include instructional videos, guided meditations, and interactive comments. As a bonus, group members will continue to have access to the content once the course ends, and participate in monthly, drop-in video conference calls.

No previous experience with meditation, writing, or any other mindfulness-based activities is required. All are welcome. Heather Stang offers a note of encouragement for potential participants on the online grief support group website:

“I know that this is not a journey that you have chosen to embark upon, and I trust that you will join this program only when you are ready to let go of the suffering – but not your love and memories – and reengage with life after loss. You may feel like relief is 10,000 miles away, and you are traveling on foot. My mission is to help you take the first step on the path by providing you with emotional, physical and spiritual support.”

The 8 week Meditation for Grief Online Group costs $350, and is bundled with the Meditation for Grief Course & Community Forum. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. Please contact Heather with any questions. Learn more on the Meditation for Grief Online Group, Winter 2018 page.

Editor’s note: This was originally published in October, 2017, and has been updated to reflect new program dates and information.
