Grief Yoga with Angelique

September 19, 2024

Yoga for Grief classes use movement, breath, and sound to release pain and suffering to reconnect back to love.

Grief comes in many forms. It's what you feel when you lose something you love—whether it's a person, pet, job, relationship, or a part of yourself. Life inevitably brings loss, leading to sadness, anger, and anxiety. When these emotions are unexpressed, they can become trapped in your body, because the body remembers. Grief is love with nowhere to go. Through compassionate transformation, you can process grief and use it as fuel for healing, opening yourself to more love.

This practice combines various forms of yoga, movement, and breath techniques to help you process grief and use it for transformative healing. It’s more about emotional liberation than physical flexibility. Often, grief causes pain to get stuck in the body. This nurturing space allows you to become aware of where you hold pain and struggle, and then express and release it through movement, breath, sound, and flowing meditations. This is a space to open your heart, connect to joy, and transform pain back into love in an empowering way.

These classes are inspired by my training in Grief Yoga® with Paul Denniston.

  • Movement, Breath, and Sound: Release pain and suffering through yoga practices that reconnect you to love.
  • Transformative Healing: Use grief as fuel for healing, focusing on emotional liberation rather than physical flexibility.
  • Compassionate Space: A nurturing environment to become present with your struggles and pain, and to express and release them.
  • Flowing Meditations: Engage in flowing meditations that open the heart and reconnect you to joy and love.

Angelique is an E-RYT500 Yoga Teacher, YACEP, Reiki Master, and Community Herbalist who looks to nature for inspiration, weaving its lessons into her classes. She believes that through the practice of yoga, we can more easily come to the connection between our body, our breath, our mind, and the universe we find ourselves in.
